FAQ

  • What hours are you open?
Each family will have their own specific contracted hours they have care. Upon enrollment, the director will discuss your childcare needs with you, if it's a good fit with our program, we will set up your contracted hours together. Each family may have different specific drop off and pick up times.
  • What are your ratios?
Our current enrollment plan is six children to one teacher. Because we have mixed age groups, our ratios may change based on enrollment in the future. Two things you may always count on, however, is that we will never have more than twelve children on-site at a time, and we will always have lower ratios than childcare centers. Lower ratios are essential for more one-on-one quality care, It is safer for the children, they get more attention, and more opportunities to learn.
  • How well do you communicate with parents?
Exceedingly well! We believe that children need their village to all be on the same page with open communication to thrive. At Puddle Ducks, we utilize a communication app called Brightwheel that is free for parents. Through the app you are able to check your child in and out each day, you will be able to see your child's daily breakdown of meals and diaper changes/potty breaks, as well as see daily photos of your child at play! You can send direct messages to your childs' teacher and even pay your tuition through the app if you choose. We are very excited to utilize Brightwheel daily to keep in touch with all of our families!
  • What about meals?
We provide a healthy homemade breakfast, lunch, and snack every day. We follow USDA guidelines, so you can be sure your child is being served all the daily recommendations while enjoying delicious homemade meals, just like at home. Your child will be able to enjoy hot home-cooked meals daily instead of cold-sacked lunches that you would have had to provide somewhere else, which takes away your time and money, and you won't find the usual chicken nuggets and fish sticks here like all the other places.
  • What about outside time?
Children will be able to run, play, and explore outside at least twice a day, weather permitting. We are very proud of our outdoor play area. There you will find many opportunities for the children to create and work their muscles, all while getting their wiggles out. We play in the rain! Each child will be provided suitable rain gear, including rain jackets and boots, to splash and play in all types of weather. Lots of specific learning can be done in this environment!
  • How much is the tuition?
We believe in full transparency, so let's not waste anyone's time! Here's what you really want to know...… Full-time tuition at Puddle Ducks Learning Academy runs $200 a week. There is a $45 registration fee that will cover your child's outdoor gear (rain/mud suit and rain boots!) upon enrollment. We do not offer part-time attendance or drop-in care, as space is very limited. While we may not be the "cheapest" care in the area, we offer the highest "quality" care, with very low ratios, homecooked nutritious meals included, as well as a day full of hands-on SCREEN FREE learning and laughter. You won't find the kind of care we offer anywhere else! Although it may be tempting to shop around for the "lowest price", remember that you get what you pay for, and if it seems too good to be true, it usually is! Your child is the most valuable gift you have, make sure you are investing in the highest quality daily care for them!
  • Do you have cameras onsite?
At Puddle Ducks Learning Academy, we do have closed-circuit security cameras throughout the home, both inside and outside, for both security and safety. However, due to security reasons, and for the privacy of the children and the director's living space, parents do not have access to the camera feed. All cameras are recording 24/7 and if needed, the director has the ability to look back on past feeds to answer questions.
  • What about Tv?
Here at Puddle Ducks we are completely SCREEN FREE! While we also love us some Bluey, we know how important it is that children spend the bulk of their day playing, learning, and using their imagination. So even though we are home based, Our TV's are not used during business hours! This is something that separates us apart from other home based centers!
